BRIAN K. OKAZAKI - A resident of our Pasadena Office, Brian is a graduate of the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific. He handles the bulk of the firm’s litigation in all courts of California. He has considerable trial experience encompassing a broad range of civil disputes, including: contracts, real estate, wills and trusts, fraud, negligence, landlord-tenant and municipal bond foreclosures. His other areas of expertise include: business formation and transactions, real estate, land use, probate, wills and trusts. Brian has also advised city councils, city planning commissions, special districts and other municipal agencies. He opened our Pasadena office in 1994 to better serve the firm’s clients in the Los Angeles area.

James S. Okazaki -The firm’s founding member, Jim has over forty years of experience advising cities, special districts and other municipal agencies. His other areas of expertise include: business formation and transactions, real estate and land use issues, and the creation of wills and trusts. After graduation from the University of Denver School of Law, Jim began his legal career with the U.S. Air Force in the Office of the Judge Advocate General (JAG), which was followed by his appointment as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of California. He later joined the County of Orange as the deputy legal counsel prior to serving a 15 year term as the city attorney for San Juan Capistrano. Jim opened our Orange County office in 1985 to devote more attention to the firm's clients in the private sector.

 

LITIGATION: Breach of contract, business, real estate and land use issues, probate, wills and trusts, fraud, negligence, landlord-tenant, municipal bond foreclosures.

TRANSACTIONS: Formation of corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies and other business entities, advise individuals and entities and handle business transactions, commercial and residential real estate transactions, creation of wills and trusts.

MUNICIPAL: Advise cities and special districts in connection with municipal agenda items, transactions and procedures. Advise property owners as to municipal procedures and land use regulations. Advise municipal bondholders of their rights and remedies.
